Soccer stadium floods, fish found playing goalie

After heavy rains flooded the field at Carlisle United’s stadium, the groundskeeper made an unusual discovery in one of the goals—three koi fish.
Northwest England has been inundated by heavy rains in recent days and Brunton Park, which sits on the banks of the River Petteril, became completely covered in water.

With the rain stopped, the club got to work on clearing the field. That’s when groundskeeper Dave Mitchell found three koi fish swimming around in front of one of the goals.

Amazingly, a Carlisle resident saw the picture of the fish in the bucket, recognized them as his and went to retrieve them.
