On New Year’s Eve Kanye West released a new song called “FACTS,” which focused on his past relationship with Nike and subsequent move to Adidas.

The track celebrates the success of his Yeezy Boost shoes, and criticizes Nike for the way it treats employees, including the line “Nike, Nike treat employees just like slaves./Gave LeBron a billi' not to run away,” which some news outlets claimed was a shot at the Cavaliers star. On Friday morning, West jumped on Twitter to let everyone know he was not insulting James.

After the song released, LeBron was asked about the lyric but said he had not yet spent time listening to the song and is always loyal to Nike, with whom he recently signed a lifetime contract, according to Cleveland.com.

"Obviously I'm going to side with Nike no matter who it is," James said. "It's just, it's family when you talk about Nike, and I'm always on their side no matter what the situation is."
