Big NFL Weekend
Is this the best slate of four Divisional games in recent memory? The fire alarm was pulled at the Chiefs' hotel on Saturday night and Brian Billick called Ben Roethlisberger a "drama queen" for his injury history. Could home teams go 0-4 again in the Divisional Round, giving them an 0-8 mark in the playoffs? Also, it was announced that Lawrence Phillips' brain would be donated to CTE research and that ESPN's Chris Mortensen has throat cancer...we're sending a lot of thoughts and prayers his way.
Yes, it's arguably the best NFL weekend of the year but mid-January also marks the start of the college basketball season for casual fans. Friday night's Monmouth-Iona game (Side note: Iona coach Tim Cluess hates the Monmouth bench's celebrations) ended with a scuffle that included Iona's Jordan Washington slapping Monmouth's Chris Brady HARD in the face and Hawks' head coach King Rice blowing a kiss to the Gaels' rowdy crowd:
Also, Butler did a tremendous job honoring Andrew Smith, Mississippi State is wearing throwback uniforms for Saturday's game against Tennessee that honor MLK and the 1963 'Game of Change' and here are the best unranked squads in college basketball.
For you southern folks, it's important to appreciate the beauty and versatility of snow. And that's exactly what Red Bull and F1 driver Max Verstappen did by racing in the fluffy stuff.
