Ninja turtles take center stage at Yankees game thanks to John Oliver

John Oliver wasn’t lying when he said he’d give Yankees tickets to fans who promised to wear outlandish costumes.

John Oliver is a man of his word. 

During his show on Sunday, Oliver promised to give Yankees tickets to fans who promised to wear outlandish costumes in the section Yankees COO Lonn Trost implied was too good for common folks. 

A reader of the Yankees blog Pinstripe Alley said he and a friend won a pair of tickets to the season opener by promising to wear Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costumes.
