Houston Texans defensive end Devon Still married his longtime girlfriend Asha Joyce at a beautiful wedding in New York on Friday, but his daughter Leah Still stole the show on the emotional night.
Leah, who gained national attention as her father shared her journey after she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2014, has been cancer-free since March 2015 and served as the flower girl at the wedding.
“We put off the wedding because my daughter was battling cancer. Now that [the wedding] is officially here, it’s the beginning of our future and the end to a hard time,” Still said PEOPLE. “When I saw [Leah] even before the wedding, I got emotional. We’d been waiting for this moment for a long time.”
Leah even hit the dance floor to show off her moves with her family.
“To see my daughter walking here at my wedding, healthy, knowing she is cancer free is a tear-jerker for me,” Still said. “We are using this night to celebrate the strength that we have of making it together as a family. We’re a hell of a team to make it through and to be here, finally happy and at peace.”
