Fat Joe solved a decades-long hip hop mystery earlier this week, but he wishes he hadn’t.

During an appearance on ESPN’s Highly Questionable with Dan LeBatard and Bomani Jones, Fat Joe revealed that the mystery Knicks player in Biggie’s “I Got a Story to Tell” was the late, great Anthony Mason. But now he’s not so sure if he should have said anything.

“I regret saying that,” he told Hip Hop Wired. “I don’t know if it was my place to say that.”

Fat Joe also said he thought people already knew Mase was the guy in the song. Nope, he broke the news, and we’re pretty glad he did.
