Chileans set world record with 120-hour, 2,357-player soccer match

Two soccer teams in Chile played a nail-biter of a match on Sunday, with the white team prevailing over the blue team 505–504.

Two soccer teams in Chile played a nail-biter of a match on Sunday, with the white team prevailing over the blue team 505–504.

According to the Associated Press, the match, which lasted 120 hours, set a world record by featuring a total of 2,357 players. Even though it lasted longer than a 105-hour match in Scotland last year, that record still stands because Guinness didn’t certify the length of the match, according to Reuters.

The teams were made up mostly of amateur players who applied to play online, but several pros also took the field.
