A woman rode a horse alongside a pack of cyclists at the Tour de France

A woman on a horse rode alongside cyclists at the Tour de France.

Week one of the Tour de France has been pretty wild. There was chess played atop a mountain, Fredric Weis showed up and on Thursday we had quite possibly our strangest moment of the event.

As the peloton neared the end of the stage, and coverage resumed after a break, this woman on a white horse came out of nowhere. The horse was absolutely motoring, traveling at nearly the pace of the group of cyclists.

This is such a power move—I can’t really think of a better way to watch a cycling race, given that you’re never able to see more than two seconds of your favorite cyclist.

“Well...there’s a horse coming through.”
