Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has always had a sly sense of humor, and he found his own unique way to honor the recently retired Tim Duncan at a press conference Monday, wearing a shirt with Duncan’s image on it.

The shirt features Duncan and the phrase “Impossible is potential.”

Popovich said Duncan himself played a role in the outfit, saying the Spurs legend “makes me wear these clothes.”

“He gives me my paycheck so he might as well give me my clothes,” Popovich joked. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Duncan actually did pick out this particular shirt, especially considering his love for novelty tees.

Duncan announced his retirement Monday after 19 seasons with the Spurs. He played his entire career with Popovich, helping lead San Antonio to five championships.

Duncan retires as a three-time Finals MVP, two-time regular season MVP and 15-time All-Star.

If Popovich really cared about fashion, he would have worn a “I feel like Duncan” shirt.
