The Maya Rudolph Clam M&M’s Super Bowl Commercial Did Not Go Over Well

Super Bowl ads all have one unifying goal in mind: to be remembered. And regardless of how you feel about it, this year’s M&M’s spot seems certain to do just that.

With new spokesperson Maya Rudolph front and center, the popular candy company went with a unique approach to this year’s big commercial: M&M’s, but with clams.

That’s right, clams. Take a look below.

That’s an interesting approach when trying to make your product as appealing as possible. Rudolph is among the best in the business at committing to the bit, and she predictably goes full tilt in selling clam M&M’s as hard as she possibly can.

While that level of dedication is something to be applauded, not everybody who watched the spot came away feeling positive. There were a lot of confused and annoyed reactions on social media, with folks clearly imagining what that unholy creation might taste like if clam M&M’s were actually real.

So what did you think of the spot? Check out some of the most notable Twitter responses.
