On Tuesday night, veteran play-by-play announcer Dave O'Brien served up one of the funniest walk-off calls MLB fans will hear all year.

On the NESN telecast, O’Brien assumed Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo’s flyball down the right field line in the bottom of the 10th was going to go in the stands in foul territory. However, the ball hit the wall on the edge of fair territory and resulted in a game-winning hit for the Red Sox.

“A high fly down the right field line but that one will reach the stands, and a foul ball," said O'Brien, his voice trailing off before ramping up the intensity when he realized what happened. "Actually, it's a fair ball! It’s fair! It’s off the wall and the Red Sox are going to win the game!”

Verdugo’s walk-off RBI single capped a three-run comeback, giving Boston a 5–4 victory over Minnesota.

The Red Sox earned their fourth victory in their last five games, while Minnesota has now lost three consecutive games.

The two clubs will face off again tomorrow with Boston’s Corey Kluber (0–3, 6.92 ERA) taking on Minnesota’s Joe Ryan (3–0, 2.84 ERA).
