Patrick Mahomes Pleaded With Elon Musk to Restore His Blue Check on Twitter and It Worked

Patrick Mahomes, like nearly every other “verified” person who has a Twitter account, witnessed his blue check disappear on Thursday.

The two-time Super Bowl MVP, after noticing that his verification symbol had been removed, jokingly implored Twitter CEO Elon Musk to return his blue check mark.

The only way for members to get their verification icon returned is to sign up for Twitter Blue, which comes with an accompanying cost of $8 a month.

On Saturday, the two-time league MVP revealed that Musk had now extended him the same courtesy and simply tweeted to his 2.4 million followers: “Appreciate it”.

The social media company's CEO created a buzz when he revealed that he paid LeBron James’ Twitter Blue subscription—returning the four-time NBA champions’ status.

As of Saturday, Mahomes now joins a list headlined by James, Tom Brady, J.J. Watt, Steve Young, A’ja Wilson, Klay Thompson, Francisco Lindor, Auston Matthews, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Denny Hamlin as athletes who have retained their blue check mark.

At this time, we have no confirmation if any of these other stars paid for the Twitter Blue subscription or also are having it paid for by Musk.
