Shannon Sharpe Blasts Dillon Brooks for Avoiding Media After Loss

The Grizzlies’ season ended on Friday night as the Lakers blew them out 125–85 in Game 6. The loss also ended Dillon Brooks’s time as a postseason villain for now, as he couldn’t back up all the trash he talked before the series.

While Brooks was willing to verbally attack the Lakers, mainly LeBron James, once Memphis started to lose, he got quiet. After Memphis lost each game in Los Angeles, Brooks declined to speak to the media, something he did again on Friday night.

Members of the media have criticized Brooks for not facing the music after losses, and Shannon Sharpe is the latest to chime in. Sharpe, a noted LeBron James fan, took to Twitter to question where Brooks was after the game.

“I need help with a question?” he said. “How does a man have soooooooo much to say after a gm 2 win. Refuse to talk 3 of the last 4 gms. Can someone help with this? #AintNoParadeInsideThatCity.”

Brooks ended the series shooting under 40% in each game while topping out at 15 points in Game 1. The 27 year-old, who essentially dared LeBron to score 40 one him after Game 2, became public enemy No. 1 among basketball fans for not backing up his trash talk. He even at one point blamed media coverage for an ejection in Game 3.

Now, Brooks can lay low until next season and avoid the media, as he seemingly prefers.
