LSU’s Angel Reese Reveals Flashy Purchase for 21st Birthday
Angel Reese will be riding in style for her 21st birthday.
The LSU women’s basketball star, who recently helped the Tigers win their first national championship, revealed that she got a new car to celebrate her upcoming milestone birthday on May 6. On Monday, Reese posted a picture of her Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 on social media.
“BIG BODY BENZ BARBIE! 👀💖Why not get a new car when it’s your 21st birthday week??? 🥳Thank you @mercedesbenzbatonrouge for helping me purchase my NEW CAR!! I wouldn’t be the BAYOU BARBIE without @matchpconnect @bayoutraditions#BAYOUBARBIETURNS21 #GODDID,” Reese wrote.
Reese’s new car came as part of her endorsement deal with Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge. A portion of the car was paid off through the NIL deal while Reese paid for another unspecified portion of the car, according to Pete Nakos of On3.com.
In addition to getting a new car, Reese—along with Flau’jae Johnson and former LSU teammate Alexis Morris—made an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Wednesday. Since leading the Tigers to a national title, Reese has seen her NIL valuation soar.
In addition to Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge, Reese also has NIL deals with Raising Cane’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Campus Ink and Leaf Trading Cards. She also recently appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America and hosted a Bleacher Report WNBA draft watch party.
As Reese prepares to celebrate her birthday like a Barbie, the talented forward is also thrilled about the program’s potential to repeat as national champion next season with the addition of former Louisville star Hailey Van Lith.
Reese averaged a double-double, with 23 points and 15.4 rebounds per game, over the course of the 2022-23 season.
