Yankees’ Gerrit Cole Reveals All-Time MLB Dream Pitching Rotation

Gerrit Cole could not have asked for a better start to his 2023 MLB season, despite the Yankees’ early struggles this season.

The Yankees ace remains undefeated and recently notched a feat unseen in the past 65 years. In the Yankees’ 4-2 win against the Guardians on Tuesday, the 32-year-old became the first Yankees starter since Bob Turley in 1958 with an undefeated team record through his first seven starts, along with an ERA of 1.50 or less, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

Against that backdrop, the five-time All-Star recently was asked which pitchers he would include in a dream pitching rotation. Not surprisingly, Cole shared some legendary names, including one former teammate.

“Nolan Ryan, Justin Verlander, Randy Johnson, Greg Maddux,” Cole said.

The four pitchers whom Cole listed combined for 35 All-Star appearances and 12 Cy Young Awards. Cole is 5-0 this season with a 1.35 ERA across his seven starts and 46 2/3 innings pitched.

Cole was teammates with Verlander in Houston, but the other three legends starred before Cole made his major league debut with the Pirates in 2013.
