‘Jackass’ Actor Steve-O Spits Fire During Ceremonial First Pitch
Jackass star Steve-O was in attendance at the Padres-Royals game on Monday night, during which he served up an all-time spectacular ceremonial first pitch.
The 48-year-old actor took to the mound at Petco Park, donning a No. 62 “Steve-O” Padres jersey. For his ceremonial first pitch, he threw a literal fireball to San Diego’s mascot, who was acting as the catcher behind home plate.
Steve-O could be seen spitting a flammable liquid into the air before igniting it right above himself. He then quickly tossed the ball up, caught it, and threw a near perfect strike to the Swinging Friar, who managed to hold onto the red-hot ball.
Steve-O was fired up after the game, taking to Instagram to celebrate the moment, sharing a video of his first pitch.
The Instagram post was captioned, “My first time throwing the first pitch at an MLB game— I’m pretty sure it’s never been done like this, too! Thanks so much, Padres!!!”
The Padres would go on to win the game, 4–0, taking down the Royals to improve to 20–22 on the campaign. Starting pitcher Michael Wacha, who took the mound shortly after Steve-O, struck out 11 across seven innings of work, though the veteran right-hander didn’t have any flame-engulfed theatrics assisting him in his performance.
