Serena Williams’ Daughter Olympia Had the Sweetest Possible Reaction to Star’s Pregnancy

Tennis legend Serena Williams announced to the world that she was pregnant with her second child while at this year’s Met Gala, but she had a much more personal moment when telling her daughter, Olympia.

Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian shared the video of them revealing the big news to their five-year-old daughter on Wednesday, and fans couldn’t help but smile while watching it.

“Remember how you’ve been praying for a little sister or brother?” Williams said. “We went to the doctor, and it turns out I’m not getting fat but I have a baby in my belly.”

“Are you kidding me?” Olympia said. “Oh my god! I’m so excited!”

Olympia then hugged her mom and screamed with excitement.

One of Williams’s reasons for “evolving” away from tennis after last year’s U.S. Open was to “grow” her family. Olympia had been adamant about wanting a younger sibling, and now her wish has come true.

It doesn’t sound like the 23-time Grand Slam winner has any plans to soon return to tennis. When asked back in February about the chance of her coming back on the court was feasible in the near future, she said “for now, no.”
