Sports World Surprised by Richard Sherman’s Candidacy for Fox’s ‘Undisputed’

The sports world joined together to share a collective gasp on Thursday after a report emerged linking Richard Sherman as a possible new co-host alongside Skip Bayless on Fox Sports 1’s Undisputed.

A report from the New York Post noted the retired star cornerback and budding media personality is considered a “top candidate” to fill the seat vacated by Shannon Sharpe’s departure in late May. While FS1 has yet to name Sharpe’s replacement, the idea of Sherman and Bayless teaming up seemed to already drum up interest as many wondered how the pair would work out.

Given his reputation as a confident yet brash player, Sherman seems to be tailor-made to join forces with Bayless. Not to mention, the tandem, as many made sure to highlight, previously shared a moment of TV gold in the past when Sherman demolished Bayless with a classic rant during a 2013 ESPN appearance.

It goes without saying that Sherman and Bayless could make for an explosive combination, both in terms of content and ratings, if the former All-Pro is hired before the show resumes on Aug. 28. And, should FS1 go in that direction, the popular program already appears in line for more attention than ever based on Thursday’s reactions:
