LSU’s Angel Reese Throws Out Ceremonial First Pitch at Orioles Game

LSU forward Angel Reese’s victory tour continued Tuesday night—this time in her hometown of Baltimore.

The star who helped guide the Tigers to their first women’s basketball national championship back in March took to the baseball diamond at Oriole Park at Camden Yards to throw out the first pitch ahead of Baltimore’s game against the Dodgers.

The chance to throw out the first pitch comes less than a week after Reese was honored at the ESPY Awards, where she won the “Best Breakthrough Athlete” honor. She earned that distinction after being named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2023 Final Four, where LSU knocked off Iowa in the national championship game.

As for Reese’s pitching abilities? Another job well done.

The Orioles mascot was on the receiving end of the pitch from Reese, who was a blue chip high school prospect at Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore. She spent her first two college seasons at nearby Maryland, averaging 17.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore before transferring to LSU.

As a junior last season, Reese upped those averages to 23.0 points and 15.4 boards per game, leading the team to a 34-2 record and earning unanimous All-America honors in the process.
