Giants Staffer Accidentally Trolled Bryce Young So Hard Over His Height

Since the moment the clock began ticking on Panthers quarterback Bryce Young’s future as a blue-chip prospect, there have been plenty of concerns about his stature.

The first sentence of his 247Sports scouting report from November 2018, in fact, reads, “Has a slight frame and needs to bulk up and add some size and strength.”

The weight has come—Young, listed at 183 pounds as a recruit, has bulked up to 204—but the height has not. The Heisman winner is actually listed an inch shorter with Carolina than he was in high school.

Young, however, has fun with his image, as evidenced by an episode after the Giants‘ 21–19 win over the Panthers in the preseason Friday.

A New York staffer was adjusting the microphone for Young's postgame availability.

“How’s this?” he asked in front of the mic. “I’m 5’ 9”. So this won’t block [Young]?”

Young can be heard off camera responding, "The difference between 5'9" and 5'10" is huge."

The staff and reporters assembled laughed, and Young began his availability.

In limited duty Friday, the former Alabama star completed three of six passes for 35 yards and added a carry for one yard.
