Stephen Curry Makes Bold Claim About His Place Among NBA Legends

Stephen Curry has provided NBA fans with ridiculous three-point shots, impeccable court vision and absurd handles on his way to helping the Warriors claim four NBA titles. However, few (if any) traditional point guards have Curry’s elite shooting ability.

So when the two-time NBA MVP was asked by former All-Star Gilbert Arenas whether he’s the best point guard in history, Curry answered with supreme confidence.

“Yes,” Curry told Arenas on the latest episode of the Gil’s Arena podcast.

Curry and Arenas discussed Lakers legend Magic Johnson, his stats and his impact as a superstar point guard during his legendary NBA career. However, according to Arenas, Curry is a different breed of player, and his influence on the game is unmatched.

“I can witness and watch every kid trying to be Curry,” Arenas told the Warriors star.

While Curry accepted Arenas’s praise, the 35-year-old showed his respect to Johnson while embracing the comparison of NBA eras and the dialogue around the league’s all-time best players.

“Magic’s résumé is ridiculous,” Curry said. “The fact that we even having this conversation is a place I never thought I would be in. That’s why we have that conversation. because it’s fun, measuring eras against each other. I love it. That’s what basketball is all about. … That’s why people watch … heated debates about it. … I love it.”
