The great Charles Barkley joined the SI Media With Jimmy Traina podcast this week and spoke about a number of different topics, including how much longer he wants to keep working for Turner Sports.

Speaking of working for Turner Sports, there’s one big-name announcer that Barkley love to have join the team - Jeff Van Gundy.

Van Gundy, of course, was a part of the ESPN layoffs earlier this summer. He had been the lead analyst on the No. 1 NBA booth and worked 16 NBA Finals alongside Mike Breen and Mark Jackson.

Barkley had this to say about Van Gundy’s future:

"I won’t be surprised if he finds his way to Turner. I won’t be shocked at all. If we hired Jeff Van Gundy it would be a home run."

Barkley added that he thought it would be great if Jeff Van Gundy could work alongside his brother, Stan Van Gundy, who currently calls NBA games for Turner.

"Wouldn’t that be awesome, or what?” Barkley said.
