Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell delivered an epic postgame speech Thursday night after his team upset the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs to kick off the new NFL season.

Campbell, whose energy has made him a fan favorite (and occasional meme) throughout his head coaching career, was clearly pumped up to get the win. His message: We expected to win.

“Now let me ask you this: Did we expect to win that game?” Campbell asked. The team, of course, responded “Yes.”

“That’s exactly what we did, because we’re built that f—ing way!” Campbell said to his jubilant team.

The video will give you chills.

“I told you guys, we’re built for this,” Campbell said. “We can overcome anything, as long as you guys just f—ing hang with it.

The gritty 21–20 win sets a season with high expectations for the Lions off to a dream start, but fans seem all aboard the Campbell bandwagon. Clearly, he had his team ready for a whale of a performance against Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.
