TE Start of the Week: Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams (vs. ATL)

I considered listing New York Giants tight end Evan Engram here since it's the first time this season I have someone other than Kansas City’s Travis Kelce listed as my weekly TE1—but Engram is an obvious must-start, so I’m going back to the well with Gerald Everett this week.

With Jared Goff throwing for only 78 yards in Week 6, the entire passing offense was a disappointment. Everett was no exception, with the third-year tight end finishing Sunday with two catches for nine scoreless yards on five targets.

Before last week, however, Everett had back-to-back productive outings—5/44/1 vs. Tampa Bay and 7/136 at Seattle—and the passing offense gets a favorable matchup in Week 7 vs. Atlanta. In those two games, Goff threw for a combined 912 yards.

The Falcons have the 27th-ranked pass defense (271.2 YPG allowed) this season and only Arizona (16) has allowed more passing touchdowns than Atlanta (15). In addition, the Falcons have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends while three of the other top 10—Tampa Bay, Cleveland and Pittsburgh—are on bye this week.

TE Sit of the Week: Eric Ebron, Indianapolis Colts (vs. HOU)

Tied with Davante Adams for the second-most receiving touchdowns (13) last season, Ebron has two touchdowns through five games this year. With a 45% catch rate this season, Ebron has just nine receptions in his five games and one catch in back-to-back games.

Houston’s pass defense has been one of the league’s worst, but has done well at slowing down opposing tight ends. So far this season, the Texans have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points (3.8 per game) to the position.

Ebron remains a touchdown-dependent option, like many of the tight ends outside the top 10, but there is a good chance he has a quiet game in Week 7.
