Cincinnati Bengals vs. Oakland Raiders Betting Preview

It's weird to see the Raiders as a double-digit favorite, but is there actually value in backing Oakland at home against the Bengals?

Looking to keep their playoffs hopes alive, and post a third straight win, Oakland hosts Cincinnati at RingCentral Coliseum, in Oakland, CA. This Raiders vs. Bengals battle, from a re-energized Black Hole, kicks off 4:25 p.m. ET on Nov. 17, 2019.

Spread: Raiders -10.5 (-110), Bengals +10.5 (-110)

Bengals' Season to Date

A rough season got worse for Cincinnati (0-9), as the Bengals were blitzed 49-13 at home by Baltimore last week. Rookie QB Ryan Finley had a difficult debut, as he managed just 167 pass yards, tossed a pick-six and also lost a fumble that was returned for a TD. Ravaged by injuries, the Bengals defense is giving up 28.8 points per game.

Bengals' Betting Record: ATS 3-6-0 OVER/UNDER 3-5-1

Cincinnati Bengals Leaders on Offense

QB: Ryan Finley 167 pass yards with 1 TD and 1 INT

RB: Joe Mixon 581 total yards with 3 TD

WR Tyler Boyd: 598 receiving yards with 1 TD

TE: Tyler Eifert: 212 receiving yards with 2 TD

Raiders’ Season to Date

Following a 26-24 win over the L.A. Chargers during the Week 10 TNF game, Oakland (5-4) is now just a tiebreaker behind Pittsburgh for the final AFC playoff spot. The Raiders’ mediocre pass defense stepped up versus the Chargers as it recorded three interceptions (one was a pick-six) and sacked Chargers QB Philip Rivers five times.

Raiders’ Betting Record: ATS 6-3-0, OVER/UNDER 6-3-0

Raiders’ Leaders on Offense

QB Derek Carr: 2,202 pass yards with 14 TD and 4 INT

RB Josh Jacobs: 943 total yards with 7 TD

WR Tyrell Williams: 380 receiving yards with 5 TD

TE Darren Waller: 588 receiving yards with 3 TD

Recent History – Bengals’ First Visit to the Black Hole Since 2015

Meeting for a second straight year, Oakland is looking to avenge a 30-16 bashing by the Bengals during Week 15 last season. That contest was in Cincinnati and RB Joe Mixon had a big day with 130 total yards and two touchdowns. This is the Bengals’ first trip to Oakland since they posted a 33-13 win back in 2015. Don’t read much into either win.

Raiders vs. Bengals Final Thoughts and Pick

Posted as a 10.5-point favorite, bookmakers are starting to buy in on Oakland. A week after being 1.5-point home dogs to the Chargers, Oakland is double-digit chalk for just the third time in 15 years. The other two occasions were both in 2017, as the Raiders covered versus the Jets (45-20) but didn’t cover during a 24-17 win over the Giants.

Trends clash here. Cincinnati is 8-0 against the spread (5-3 SU) during its last eight games in the Pacific time zone. Countering that, and even more recent, Oakland is 7-1 ATS and 6-2 straight up over its last eight home games. The lone ATS loss was against Kansas City (28-10) in Week 2. Lay the line and root against a backdoor cover.

Pick: Raiders -10.5

Season Record: 1-12
