The Jets squandered a 14-0 first-quarter lead, and fell behind 27-21, before scoring 13 unanswered points to close out the contest. The Jets defense held Giants RB Saquon Barkley to one yard on 13 carries.

Rookie QB Dwayne Haskins—who has zero TD, four INT and has taken eight sacks—gets the start over Case Keenum.

Redskins vs. Jets Recent History – First Meeting Since 2015

These squads have had full player turnover, so we can’t read anything into the Jets’ 34-20 home win back in 2015. This season, Washington lost to Dallas and the Giants—the only teams the Jets have defeated. New York lost to Miami, who is the only team the Redskins have won against. Both teams have losses to the Patriots, Bills and Eagles.

Jets vs. Redskins Final Thoughts and Pick

With both teams looking toward the NFL 2020 season, this is definitely one for the diehards in the betting crowd. As the low game total suggests to not expect either team to produce much on offense. While the Jets are still scrambling to field a team due to a number of injuries, the Redskins are steadily getting back to full health.

Washington has talent on its defensive line, in particular Montez Sweat and Ryan Kerrigan, to put pressure on QB Sam Darnold. Redskins right guard Brandon Scherff and center Chase Roullier are both back from injuries to help protect Haskins. While we don’t suggest betting the farm, we like Washington to cover the short price at home.

Pick: Redskins -1.5

Season Record: 1-12
