GolfThreads: 2020 Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship | Dubai Duty Free Irish Open style recap

The next polarizing trend in pants; layering inspiration for fall; and the best footwear of the week

Hudson Swafford (Peter Millar)

As much as we talk about trendy colors and prints, traditional stripes always seem to have a home on the course. To keep the classics looking fresh, pair them with modern pieces like 5-pocket pants as Hudson Swafford did throughout the week.

Scott Harrington (G/Fore)

Speaking of contemporary takes on iconic styles, Scott Harrington stepped out in this pair of G/FORE Saddle Gallivanters. The pebbled texture gives these kicks a vintage look but the performance and comfort deliver everything you would expect from a modern golf shoe.

Scott Hend (Raimondi)

Scott Hend has never been one to shy away from a little swagger on the course. His latest drip was this pair of basket weave spectator shoes from Raimondi. A quick check of the Raimondi website shows a lot of sweet shoes and no prices, but then again, my Italian isn’t very good. I can only assume that if you have to ask how much they are, then you can’t afford them. Good on you, mate!

Aaron Rai (Adidas Golf) | Toby Tree (J.Lindeberg)

First came skinny trousers. Then, joggers arrived. The next polarizing trend in golf pants will be track stripes. Since track pants have been trending on the fashion runways and given the athletic nature of the modern game, it is no surprise to see them arriving on the course. Add a pair to your wardrobe this season.

Justin Suh (Puma Golf)

Green is the hot color for fall and camo seems to have found a permanent home on the fairways. Put them together and you’ll have one stylish outfit.

Lucas Herbert (Adidas Golf) | Joël Salter (Greyson Clothiers)

This is all the layering inspiration you need for fall. Quilted hybrid jackets and vests have quickly become cold-weather essentials. Vests are the more versatile option as they can easily be layered over a slim-fitting pullover or sweater. If you decide to go with a jacket, look for one with an insulated body and flexible sleeves for range of motion.

Luke List (Greyson Clothiers)

This is the time of the year to break out those jewel tones because they offer a seamless transition from the vibrant hues of summer to the dark colors of winter. This jade green, which Greyson calls Pelican, is a smart and stylish choice. So is the intricate pattern on the brand’s Jardin De Loup Polo.

James Hahn (Puma Golf)

Then again, if you are lucky enough to be jetting to a tropical island this fall, be sure to pack a bright blue shirt. It will be the perfect complement to the crystal blue waters.

Keith Mitchell (Nike)

I can’t think of a belt that has had as many ups and downs as this multicolored braided belt from Nike. This strap begs to be the center of attention, which is why it looks best when paired with a solid shirt and pants as Keith Mitchell did here.

Toby Tree (J.Lindeberg)

It is human nature to gravitate towards dark, rich colors during the colder months. To give your fall fits an energy boost, look for ways to add subtle pops of color. These could be in the form of colorful gloves or design elements.
