Jon Rahm Gets Frustrated With Cameraman Amidst Struggles at PGA Championship

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Jon Rahm hasn’t had his strongest showing at the PGA Championship this week in western New York. An opening-round 76 at Oak Hill left the 2023 Masters champion with some work to do during Round 2, and he impressively bounced back with a 2-under 68 to make the cut by two shots.
But Rahm’s struggles seem to have returned amidst Saturday morning’s abysmal rainy conditions, and the 11-time PGA Tour winner is making his frustration known.
On the par-5 5th hole, Rahm was seen slamming his wedge into the ground after a poor chip shot, taking out a microphone with the action. Yesterday, mics caught Rahm letting out an expletive and criticizing the PGA Championship set up on the long par-3 11th.

Later, after the Spaniard’s drive sailed to the right on the par-4 8th, Rahm ended up deep in Oak Hill’s juicy rough. Following his approach shot—which ended up short of the green—Rahm expressed his irritation with an ESPN cameraman and the moment was caught on the live broadcast.

“Stop aiming at my face when I’m mad, it’s all you guys do,” Rahm said, walking away with an umbrella hiding his expression.
Rahm carded a 4-over 39 on his front nine at Oak Hill, which included five bogeys and one birdie.
