Justin Thomas, Jason Day Among Notables to Miss Cut at Memorial

DUBLIN, Ohio – Justin Thomas and Jason Day were among the big names to miss the 36-hole cut at the Memorial Tournament.
Thomas, 30, who last won at the 2022 PGA Championship, had a tough week, shooting scores of 75-75 to finish at 150 and miss by three shots.
Day’s Friday 72 was one shot too many.
The top 65 players and ties make the cut and there were 66 who finished at 147, 3 over par.
Justin Suh, who shot 66, leads at 136, 8 under par, with Hideki Matsuyama a shot back.
Thomas played his final nine in 40 strokes on Thursday and it didn’t get much better as he began play on Friday morning with consecutive bogeys. A double bogey at the 18th hole, his ninth, took him to 5 over par for the tournament. He made just one birdie on the front side.
Day won last month at the Byron Nelson Championship but has had his struggles at Muirfield Village Golf Club, despite living in the area. He has just one top-10 finish in 14 appearances and has missed five cuts. He opened the tournament with a 76 and bogeyed his final hole Friday to miss by one.
Others who missed the cut were U.S. Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson (73-75), Cam Young (74-75), past Memorial champions David Lingmerth (77-74), Will McGirt (77-74) and Jason Dufner (76-77), Kevin Kisner (75-79), Francesco Molinari (81-74) and defending champion Billy Horschel (84-72)
