At the U.S. Open, Justin Thomas and Max Homa caused a stir on Twitter with some entertaining and rosé-induced tournament predictions. This week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, the PGA Tour pals are riling up social media again, only this time their shenanigans occurred during an official pre-tournament press conference.

Hoping to catch his friend off guard, Thomas popped into Homa’s meeting with the media Wednesday and asked a question that he anticipated to go in his favor.

“Hey, man. It’s Justin, I’m playing in the tournament this week. Of your pairing last week, who was your favorite that wasn’t Wyndham Clark? And why?” Thomas asked.

Thomas was referring to last week’s Travelers Championship, during which he was paired with Homa and Clark, the 2023 U.S. Open champion.

Homa’s response was not only amusing, but it perfectly turned Thomas’s question against him—playfully, of course. The video immediately made the round on Twitter.

“I think I’d have to go with Justin Thomas,” Homa said. “He makes me feel tall … and funny.”

Thomas, immediately dissatisfied with the response, chimed in before Homa could add anything else to the list: “All right, that’s the end of the question.”

After the interview session was complete, Thomas assessed his plan: “That backfired.”

Nothing like some quality Justin Thomas-Max Homa banter to start Rocket Mortgage Classic week. Keep the content coming, boys.
