Watch: Top LPGA Pro Makes Million-Dollar Ace for Charity at Chevron Championship

In Gee Chun did something remarkable on Saturday at the Chevron Championship, both for her scorecard and for the tournament’s charitable efforts.
Chun, the 11th ranked player in the world, made an epic hole in one during the third round of the major championship on the 17th hole of The Club at Carlton Woods. The incredible shot, which moved her to 1 under for the tournament, happened to occur on “The Chevron Challenge” hole.
According to the LPGA’s Twitter handle, the challenge is set up so that a hole in one on the 17th would trigger a $1 million donation to be shared by the featured charitable partners of the championship.
Those partners include NBSE, Techbridge, LPGA Foundation, Girls Golf of Greater Houston Catalyst, Brothers in Arms and Women in Golf Foundation.
Given her extensive personal charitable contributions. Chun was the perfect Chevron Challenge winner. When she won the U.S. Women’s Open at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania, Chun opened the “In Gee Chun Lancaster Country Club Educational Foundation” for local student scholarships.
When she realized what she had just accomplished, Chun immediately began to jump up and down out of excitement and high-five her playing partners.
