Rob Gronkowski Shared His Hypothetical Masters Champions Dinner Menu and It Was Comedic Gold

Former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski might not spend much time on the golf course just yet, but when he attended the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship on Friday and spoke with the media, he seemed right at home.

Gronkowski, who played 11 seasons in the NFL on the Patriots and Buccaneers, came to watch the Valspar to support the Tampa Bay community and, in his words, do some “activities.”

“I was also playing cornhole while watching everyone play golf,” Gronkowski said. “So I got to do some activities because I love activities.”

In between the cornhole playing and the golf spectating, Gronkowski answered a few questions from golf reporters. One member of the media even asked the spirited NFL player what he would include on his Masters Champions Dinner menu. Scottie Scheffler, the Masters defending champion, just announced his personalized menu choices this week.

“My menu would be cheeseburgers, chicken finger subs, buffalo wings with blue cheese on the side, and of course, my lovely ice shaker right here with an ice cold beverage inside, just getting a little tipsy at all times, baby,” Gronkowski said while holding said “ice shaker.”

In response, the reporter mentioned that Scheffler also included cheeseburgers on his menu—well, cheeseburger sliders.

“Yeah, well, we’re just alike,” Gronkowski said. “He’s a good guy.”

Gronkowski also spoke in the interview about meeting Tiger Woods. The former NFL star said he met the 15-time major champion “real quick” at the “big golf tournament up in New England.” According to Gronkowski, Woods was working out at the Patriots gym at the time.

Gronkowski may have shook hands with one of the greatest golfers of the generation, but he seemed more excited to talk about another interaction: one with Happy Gilmore star Christopher McDonald, who plays the film’s iconic villain, Shooter McGavin.

“I did meet Shooter McGavin before, actually, and if you ask me, he's the No. 1 most professional golf guy ever. I met Shooter,” Gronkowski said, following up the line with some emphatic gun sound effects.

Never change, Gronk. Never change.
