Sergio Garcia is among 21 current or reserve LIV Golf League players who will attempt to qualify for the British Open via one of four Final Qualifying venues in the United Kingdom on July 4.

Garcia, 43, has played in every Open starting in 1998 and has missed just two major championships since he played his first Open as a pro in 1999—the 2020 Masters due to testing positive for COVID-19 and last month’s PGA Championship, where he was not eligible.

The 2017 Masters champion, who is playing the LIV Golf Andalucia event in his native Spain this week, qualified last month for the U.S. Open where he tied for 27th.

He will join fellow LIV golfers Graeme McDowell, Mito Pereira and Scott Vincent at the West Lancashire Golf Club in England. There will be four spots available at each of the qualifying venues.

Carlos Ortiz, Peter Uihlein, Jason Kokrak, Sebastián Muñoz and Andy Ogletree will attempt to qualify at Dundonald Links in Scotland; Cameron Tringale, Anirban Lahiri, Marc Leishman, Laurie Cantor and Matt Jones will try at Royal Porthcawl in Wales; and Dean Burmester, Branden Grace, Charl Schwartzel, Brendan Steel, David Puig, Wade Ormsby and Kieran Vincent will attempt to make it through at Royal Cinque Ports in England.

The 36-hole qualifiers are being played between LIV events in Spain and London.

Two players who are absent from qualifying are Englishmen Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter. Westwood, 50, will miss The Open for the first time in 28 years.

Among other players attempting to qualify are Michael Block, the club pro from California who finished 15th at the PGA Championship. He will be in the Dundonald Links qualifier along with Matt Kuchar, MacKenzie Hughes and Rafa Cabrero-Bello.

Former European Ryder Cup players Victor Dubuisson and Jamie Donaldson along with Aaron Wise are among the players at West Lancashire; Harry Hall, Thomas Detry and Ross Fischer are part of the field at Royal Cinque Ports.

Among LIV golfers who are exempt for The Open are Abraham Ancer, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Cam Smith, Dustin Johnson, Henrik Stenson, Joaquin Niemann, Louis Oosthuzien, Patrick Reed, Phil Mickelson, Richard Bland, Talor Gooch and Thomas Pieters.
