Steph Curry Leads Celebrity Golf Tournament After Eventful Second Round
Stephen Curry has maintained his spot atop the leaderboard at the American Century Championship through Saturday’s second round of play in Lake Tahoe.
The Warriors star racked up 23 points in the second round under the modified Stableford scoring system being utilized at the celebrity golf tournament at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, adding to the 27 he scored during the opening round on Friday.
Contributing to his 22-point day, Curry stunned the golf world with a picture perfect hole-in-one on the 7th hole.
Curry paces the leaderboard with 50 points, just ahead of Marty Fish (47 points), who led all golfers with 29 points on Saturday and Stars forward Joe Pavelski. Rounding out the top five are actor Jack Wagner and former MLB pitcher Mark Mulder, who are tied at 38 points.
Other notable celebrities enjoying some success at the American Century Championship through two rounds include a slew of current and former NFL stars. Ex-Rams running back Marshall Faulk ended the day in sixth place with 37 points, while Brian Urlacher, Aaron Rodgers and Tony Romo are tied for 12th with 32 points.
The final round gets underway at 10:45 a.m. ET on Sunday, at which point Curry will look to hold onto his lead and secure the victory.
