Disputed drop by Farmers Insurance Open winner Patrick Reed gives Hawk & Purk plenty of ammunition to launch podcast season

John Hawkins and Mike Purkey kick off their 2021 "Hawk & Purk" podcast season with a bang as the latest rules skirmish involving Patrick Reed overshadows his victory at the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. “The whole thing just smells bad,” said Purkey, suggesting that the disputed drop might have been premeditated. That prompted Hawkins to describe the stench a bit less eloquently, before adding: “The truth was available, and the truth was ignored.” Hawkins said it’s time for the PGA Tour to use its ample video capabilities to correct such problems and not taint the tournament results.
