World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler was detained by police early Friday morning ahead of the start of the second round of the PGA Championship after trying to turn into Valhalla Golf Club past the scene of an active police investigation into a shuttle bus crash that killed a pedestrian.

Scheffler was put into the back of a police car and taken to jail, and booked on a charge of felony second-degree assault on a police officer. An officer attached himself to Scheffler's vehicle as he was driving slowly in the direction of the golf course.

Here's Scheffler's mugshot.

There will certainly be more to come with this story as details emerge.
