Watch: Rockies' Nolan Arenado homers in sixth straight game
Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado homered in his sixth straight game Saturday, continuing his breakout season and completing a number of impressive statistical feats.
With a sixth-inning shot to left off Giants pitcher Jake Peavy, Arenado became the first player to go deep in six consecutive games since Chris Davis of the Orioles in 2012. Arenado's streak is the longest in Rockies history, breaking Larry Walker's five straight in 1999.
The home run, Arenado's 36th of the season, tied him with teammate Carlos Gonzalez for the National League lead. The all-star third baseman has homered nine times against San Francisco this season, the most against the Giants by any player since Dale Murphy hit 11 against them in 1983.
Though Colorado is out of the playoff race, the 24-year-old Arenado has been an enormous bright spot this season. After hitting home run No. 36, he was hitting .288 with 105 RBIs and a .905 OPS.
