The Washington Nationals have traded pitcher Drew Storen to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for outfielder Ben Revere, the teams announced.

The deal was first reported by Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reports that cash going from Washington to Toronto in the trade will even out the salary difference between the two players.

Storen finished last year with a 3.44 ERA and 29 saves. He joins a bullpen that includes Roberto Osuna, Aaron Sanchez and Brett Cecil.

Revere hit .306 with two home-runs and 45 RBIs in 152 with the Phillies and Blue Jays. The Blue Jays acquired Revere in a trade for minor leaguers Jimmy Cordero and Alberto Tirado at the trade deadline. He will fill the Nationals’ void for a left-handed hitting outfielder and will be under Washington’s control for two seasons.

The Blue Jays hold onto outfielders Michael Saunders and Dalton Pompey going into Spring Training.
