How To Watch Houston Astros Opening Day vs. New York Yankees

The Houston Astros embark on another opportunity to contend a World Series as they host the New York Yankees on Opening Day.

The Houston Astros will host the New York Yankees on Thursday at Minute Maid Park as the two teams open their 2024 season.

The Houston Astros are coming off another great season, but one that ended in disappointment after they lost to their arch-rival, the Texas Rangers, in seven games in the American League Championship Series. It was the first time the two in-state rivals in the postseason.

Still, the Astros remain one of the top teams in baseball. Since 2017 the Astros have won two World Series titles, four American League pennants and six AL West titles. The Astros have also reached the playoffs seven straight years and at least the ALCS each season.

The Astros are under new management. After Dusty Baker retired, the Astros elevated his bench coach, Joe Espada, to his managerial job.

This offseason the Astros have extended Jose Altuve’s contract, named young catcher Yainer Diaz the team’s full-time starter behind the plate and signed closer Josh Hader to the largest free agent deal team owner Jim Crane has ever handed out.

In return, all Crane and Astros fans want is a third World Series title.

Here is the preview for the game, with probable pitchers, starting lineups, how to watch and listen, injury updates and more.
