Brewers Announce Starting Pitchers for Series vs Floundering Mets

The Milwaukee Brewers had a successful series against the Atlanta Braves over the weekend and now have a day off on Monday before kicking off a three-game series against the New York Mets on Tuesday night on the road.

Milwaukee faced off against the Braves over the weekend and took two out of the three contests. Now, the Brewers are sitting pretty at 81-50. Plus, the Brewers have a six-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central standings. On the other hand, the Mets have had a horrible season and are sitting in last place in the NL East standings at 59-72.

When the Brewers kick off their three-game set against the Mets, they will certainly be putting their best foot forward in the starting rotation. Milwaukee already has announced its rotation for the week. Here are the Brewers hurlers taking the hill in New York.

Tuesday — Kyle Harrison

The lefty has been incredible for the Brewers so far this season after being acquired in the offseason from the Boston Red Sox in the Caleb Durbin deal. Harrison has made 20 starts so far this season and has a 2.84 ERA and a 122-to-26 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 98 1/3 innings pitched. Harrison's command has been elite. Having just shy of 100 more strikeouts than walks at this point in the season is absurd.

Harrison is scheduled to face off against fellow lefty Zac Thornton of the Mets.

Wednesday — Dustin May

May put up his first dud in a Brewers uniform his last time out. On Aug. 19, May allowed seven runs in just two innings of work. This was certainly different from his other two starts in a Brewers uniform. May tossed 13 innings and allowed just three total runs in his first two starts for Milwaukee. The third one didn't go well, to say the least. He's going to be just fine, though. This has been a trend throughout his season overall. May has been great for the most part, aside from a few blowups.

The Mets will respond with righty Robert Stock on the hill.

Thursday — Jacob Misiorowski

Any time Misiorowski is penciled in to throw, opposing teams should be nervous at this point. Misiorowski has a league-leading 1.68 ERA to go along with a league-leading 216 strikeouts in 145 innings pitched. What can't this guy do? Misiorowski is well on his way to his first Cy Young Award, if he doesn't have a massive setback down the stretch.

The Mets will turn to lefty Sean Manaea to close out the series.
