Chicago Cubs vs. San Diego Padres Series: How To Watch, Stream, Probable Pitchers

The Chicago Cubs are back on the road to start a west coast swing when they head to Petco Park to face the San Diego Padres starting on Monday.

The Chicago Cubs return to the road for a three-city trip that starts in San Diego on Monday as the Padres start an old friend in the opener.

All three games will be at Petco Park in San Diego. After that series, the Cubs get a day off before a three-game series in Seattle, followed by a three-game series in Phoenix against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

But, on Monday, the Cubs will face their former pitcher, Yu Darvish.

Darvish spent three seasons (2018-20) with the Cubs, joining the team after a half-season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Injuries stymied his first season, and his best season in Chicago was his last in the COVID-shortened 2020, when he went 8-3 with a 2.01 ERA and finished second in Cy Young voting.

Darvish is off to an 0-1 start this season with a 2.30 ERA. He’ll face Cubs starter Javier Assad.

The Cubs have not determined their starter for Tuesday yet. That’s the spot in the rotation vacated by Justin Steele, who is out with a hamstring injury.

The Cubs have set Kyle Hendricks as their probable starter for Wednesday’s finale.

Here is the preview for the game, with probable pitchers, starting lineups, how to watch and listen, injury updates and more.
