Guardians add former SF Giants coach to Stephen Vogt's coaching staff

In this story:
The Cleveland Guardians have hired former SF Giants bench coach and interim manager Kai Correa to manager Stephen Vogt's staff, according to a report by Robert Murray and Jeff Young of FanSided. Correa had announced he was not returning to the organization earlier this month. Correa was the Giants bench coach from 2020-2023 under previous manager Gabe Kapler and went 1-2 as the team's interim manager following Kapler's firing.

Correa has quickly risen through the coaching ranks, in large part because of Kapler's decision to hire him as his top assistant coach. Correa played college baseball at the University of Puget Sound, where he was one of the team's top infielders. Upon graduating, he immediately joined the team's coaching staff for three seasons before he joined Northern Colorado's staff.
After four years at Northern Colorado, Correa joined the Cleveland Guardians organization in 2018. He worked as a Rookie League infield coach and short-season defensive coordinator prior to joining the Giants' staff. Still only 35, Correa would be the youngest manager in the league. He would also become the first person born in Hawaii or of Native Hawaiian descent to be a full-time manager.
Correa has interviewed several managerial positions during his tenure with the Giants, and he was one of three internal candidates the Giants interviewed to replace Kapler. However, the Giants ultimately hired Bob Melvin away from the Padres. Melvin brought his longtime bench coach Ryan Christenson with him to join San Francisco's staff, taking Correa's previous position.
Correa will be a young, but relatively experienced voice for Vogt in his rookie season as manager. Vogt, 38, played in parts of ten MLB seasons before retiring last year. Long viewed as a future manager, Vogt was immediately hired by the Mariners as a bullpen and quality control coach. Nevertheless, it will still be a big adjustment.
