Guardians’ Steven Kwan Ties Franchise Record In 2024 Home Opener Win

With his 3-for-4 performance on Monday against Chicago, the Cleveland outfielder now has four three-hit games in the Guardians’ first 10 contests.

On a once-in-a-lifetime day at Progressive Field, the Cleveland Guardians won their 2024 home opener with a 4-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

While José Ramírez made franchise history with his 174th career home run as a Cleveland third baseman, he was not the only Guardians player to make franchise history on Monday.

Steven Kwan had a game-high three hits, tallying his third three-hit game in the team’s last four contests.

According to Stathead, the Guardians left fielder tied a Cleveland franchise record with his fourth three-hit game in the team’s first 10 contests of the season. Kwan is the sixth Cleveland player to achieve this feat, and the first since former catcher and current Guardians first base coach Sandy Alomar Jr.
