Guardians New Ticket Option Could Greatly Improve Attendance

Opening Day is about two weeks away, and Cleveland Guardians fans are already starting to plan what games they want to attend this summer. Their options opened up a lot more on Tuesday afternoon when the team announced a new ticketing alternative for fans.
They will offer a Ballpark Pass that will cost $49 a month. However, fans will get unlimited access to the standing-room-only area at Progressive Field for all Guardians' home games. Yes, all home games for $49 a month.
That is a fantastic deal for fans who live downtown or have a short drive to the ballpark! With this pass, it's easier to just head down to the game than try to watch it on TV.
This will also be a great option once Progressive Field's remodel is complete as they will have much more standing-room options.
Addressing attendance was something that the Guardians organization desperately needed to do. They ranked 25th in attendance per game in 2022 with just under 16,000 fans. Cleveland isn't the biggest market in MLB, but that's still very low.
Die-hard fans continued to show up, but there weren't any new bodies coming into the ballpark. This pass could completely shift that narrative.
If you read the comments underneath the Guardians' original Tweet with the announcement, there is an overwhelming amount of support and excitement for the new alternative.
Cleveland won't jump to averaging 47,000 fans a game like the Los Angeles Dodgers does, but it should help them improve to hopefully at least the league average or the upper half.
If you end find yourself at Progressive Field on a consistent basis, then the Ballpark pass is a no-brainer.
