Fans know that Terry Francona can't manage the Cleveland Guardians forever. However, his tenure with the organization may be coming to a close faster than some expected.

Francona opened up on Tuesday about what he was thinking regarding his future as the skipper of the Guardians. He didn't explicitly say he was retiring following the season, but it certainly was implied he's considered stepping away.

Tito doubled down on the following day on where his head was at regarding whether he wanted to continue managing and if he was able to. Unfortunately for Francona, there's more to the decision than just what he wants or doesn't want to do with his time.

The biggest concern on whether or not Francona will continue to be Cleveland's skipper comes down to his health. Tito missed time during the 2020 and 2021 seasons due to health and was even taken to a hospital in Kansas City earlier this season when he didn't feel well.

When talking about where his head was at, Tito said, "People know how I feel about doing the job a certain way, and, I don't think I can necessarily do that anymore. And that bothers me."

These health issues aren't going to get easier. Francona revealed he's already scheduled to have more surgeries when this season comes to a close.

No, Tito has not confirmed that this is his last year managing. However, if you read between the lines it certainly sounds like that's what he's saying. If this is it for Francona, he deserves all recognition in the world for what he's done for the game of baseball.
