The Miami Marlins have to like their chances of getting into the win column tonight.

After a four-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates ended in heartbreak, dropping two contests in extra innings, Miami gets a Los Angeles Angels team fresh off of getting absolutely walloped by the Baltimore Orioles in Camden Yards last weekend. LA gave up twenty-five runs to the Orioles while striking out 35 times in the three games and only hitting five extra-base hits across all 101 plate appearances on the weekend.

And so, Miami's got to be feeling good about their chances against the Shohei Ohtani-less Angels...although don't forget about Mike Trout, who took Orioles ace Corbin Burnes deep on Opening Day.

Lineups for the Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Angels on Monday, April 1st

Here's how the Marlins will line up for the contest:

2B Luis Arraez
1B Josh Bell
3B Jake Burger
CF Jazz Chisholm Jr.
DH Bryan De La Cruz
RF Jesus Sánchez
SS Tim Anderson
LF Nick Gordon
C Christian Bethancourt

Starting for the Marlins is Max Meyer. The 2020 1st-rounder is making his third career Major League start but first since 2022, owing to Tommy John surgery that took almost two full years away from the 25-year-old. No current Angels have faced Meyer at the major league level in their careers.

Here's how the Angels will line up to open the series:

3B Anthony Rendon
1B Nolan Schanuel
CF Mike Trout
LF Taylor Ward
2B Brandon Drury
DH Aaron hicks
C Matt Thaiss
RF Mickey Moniak
SS Zach Neto

Starting for the Angels righty Chase Silseth, coming off a short but decent season last year: 4-1 with a 3.96 ERA in sixteen appearances (eight starts). Silseth has to be happy with his spring results, allowing only three earned runs in 13.2 innings, and enters this game as a virtual unknown to Miami's roster - only four current players have an at-bat against him, with Tim Anderson (1-3) and Jake Burger (1-1) the only players with base hits off of Silseth.
