Marlins Line Up With a Chance to Win Series versus the San Francisco Giants

Here's today's lineups and how to watch as the Miami Marlins try to win their first series of the year

The Miami Marlins are primed for a series win.

After a big night from Ryan Weathers and the bullpen holding the lead, Miami took down the San Francisco Giants last night to even the series at one game each.

And so Miami’s fighting in the finale today, sending Trevor Rogers to the mound to take on Keaton Winn at 12:10 PM ET.

Lineups for the Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, April 16th

Here's how Miami will line up for the contest:

2B Luis Arraez
CF Jazz Chisholm Jr.
DH Bryan De La Cruz
1B Josh Bell
RF Jesús Sánchez
SS Tim Anderson
LF Nick Gordon
3B Otto Lopez
C Jhony Pereda

Rogers, whose last name is “J’Daniel” (this is not a joke), is 0-2 on the year with a 4.80 ERA, but he’s improved every outing so far. Last time out, against the Atlanta Braves last weekend, he held their potent lineup to two runs on eight hits in five innings, walking one and striking out five. Only three current Giants have a hit off of him, with SS Nick Ahmed being 1-6, 2B Thairo Estrada being 1-4, and 1B Wilmer Flores being 1-3.

Here's San Francisco’s lineup:

RF Austin Slater
1B Wilmer Flores
CF Jung Ho Lee
DH Jorge Soler
3B Matt Chapman
2B Thairo Estrada
C Patrick Bailey
SS Nick Ahmed
LF Tyler Fitzgerald

Winn, a 26-year-old righty, is 0-3 with a 5.06 ERA in his three starts on the season. He’s struggled to prevent baserunners so far on the year, allowing twelve hits and walking seven (plus putting another on via HBP). Only third baseman Emmanuel Rivera has a major league at-bat against him, going 1-2.
