New York Mets Scratch Kodai Senga From Spring Start

In this story:
The Mets' rotation has suffered another injury.
According to Tim Healey of Newsday, Kodai Senga has been scratched from his scheduled spring start against the Washington Nationals on Saturday night due to discomfort at the base of his right index finger.
Senga is headed for testing on his finger, which the Mets consider to be precautionary at the moment.
Update: after undergoing testing on Saturday, Senga's imaging revealed tendinitis in his finger. He is considered to be day-to-day.
Senga has made one spring start so far in Grapefruit League play, in which he tossed two innings against the St. Louis Cardinals, allowing one run on one hit, while walking two and striking out two.
The Mets can ill afford to lose Senga after it was discovered that Jose Quintana has a stress fracture in his rib and will be forced to miss time.
New York will already have to dip into their pitching depth pool to replace Quintana. The hope is that they will not have to do the same for Senga, who the Mets say they're being cautious with.
The Mets signed Senga from Japan this winter for five-years, $75 million. The righty is being relied on as the No. 3 starter in their rotation this season.
