Padres Notes: Blockbuster Trade Proposal, Friars Linked to Top Free Agent Pitchers, Jake Cronenworth Update

In this story:
The San Diego Padres are doing their best to get the best possible team on the field following an eerily quiet offseason in Southern California.
In an effort to both bring in new talent while also shedding payroll, they could look to the trade mill. As they are seemingly involved in new proposals by the hour, the latest one from Bleacher Report sees them parting ways with a key pitcher in exchange for some top prospects.
If the Padres want to save their pieces and instead sign talent from the readily available free agents still in play, they have been linked to a big-money pitcher that would put their rotation over the top in 2025.
With all the trade rumors swirling around contributing Padres, a key name looks to be safe in a recent report. Despite his large salary, his productivity and fit with the ball club may be enough to keep him at Petco Park come Opening Day.
