While Arraez is further evaluated at the hospital, the series finale continues, but his health remains as the No. 1 priority for San Diego at the moment.
Arraez is coming off of three seasons in a row as a batting champion, but is just as important to the team off the field. Last September, fellow All-Star Jackson Merrill spoke on Arraez's impact via Dennis Lin of The Athletic.
“I’m taking him on any of my teams any year, any time, especially as a teammate and a friend,” Merrill said. “He’s unbelievable.”
Manager Mike Shildt also spoke to Lin on how Arraez lifts up others around him.
“His energy, his passion, his dedication, his preparation are all very elite. They’re very elite,” Shildt said. "He’s rising our tide.”
San Diego will keep hoping for the best possible outcome after this collision and will wish to see Arraez once again smiling and making small talk in the batter's box.
“This team is special for me,” Arraez said in September. “It’s way different.
